Hello? Where did we go?

That's probably what blogs are saying right now.

A lot of major ISPs in India, in an attempt "to block communication between terrorists", have ended up blocking major blogging platforms like Blogger, Typepad, Geocities and more! *cringes* Apparently, the Government wanted to block a few sites but the ISPs took the easy way out and blocked the platforms themselves!! :O

But hey, as it is every dark cloud has its silver lining! You can access blocked blogs through these methods! To quote Kiruba - Using one of these methods, you can show your middle finger to the ban and continue to read your favorite blogs. :D

Few more important links - Check 'em Out! And make sure you SPEAK UP!! In the end, that's what it's all about. :)

exactly.."communication between terrorists" if thats the primary objective then why is blogspot banned in countries like pakistan and china?? it has also to do with the freedom of expression and the government is just using this as an excuse to hinder free exchange of ideas on political front.

Hello, you've got some facts wrong.. the govt has not blocked blogspot or typepad or blah!! they have blocked "specific" blogs.. its the ISP's who say its easier to block all blogs that have blocked the sites..

Govt blocked only a few sites

All I can say is,blog on!

@Abhi and Suraksha:
11,000 blogs arent few blogs.

@Suraksha:
I wouldnt want to register with Blogger's Collective Google group, not unless I am utterly jobless to go delete 15,000 emails only to find a new set of 15,000 emails storming my account every minute. And trust me most of the mails are like this "Hey guess what today morning I got up to sms my friend, and I couldnt. Does this mean the govt. has blocked smsing too" and this is followed by another hundred replies fantasizing a world without sms, by jobless freaks who desperately want to put enthu to get their lives fucked up.

I would rather suggest people work on somethign useful, like the guy who developed pkblogs.com or such stuff. Or better shift to wordpress :p

#Ramanujam:
You no longer need to get tired accessing blogs thro pkblogs, the morons made a wiki to pitch in all ideas to view blogspot blogs, the chaps found it and banned pkblogs. So thats it, no more pkblogs, no more inblogs. and in another 24 hours all the other methods will be scrapped too. I must say even though the ISP guys are brainless, they know how to lookout for alternate modes and crub them too...

@Kausik:
YOU HAVE A DOLL??? :O.

@Suraksha:

@S:
I could throw some more light on this issue, but not on a public forum. Even from campus, I could access blogspots. But now, i use pkblogs and it works:)
